Positive: The apartment was well stocked and the hosts added some thoughtful details like a gown for our son as well as jam, butter, bread and coffee. The pool and view was very nice and it was quiet. Silvi greeted us on arrival and provided us with tips on visiting the Algarve.

Negative: The owners have a Doberman puppy, which is not yet trained. The dog chased our son on two occasions. I would advise anybody with young children to book only if your children are comfortable with this kind of dog and the hosts can assure you the dog has been adequately trained. It should be made clearer by the hosts on Bookings that there is a Doberman dog on the premises and it should then be up to families if they want to book in light of this information.

Positive: Beautiful views and nice sized suite. Perfect for a few days away. In the summer the pool would be a great place to hang out.

Negative: It was cold weather so the suite was cold the first few days. Not the fault of the owner, just climate change.

Positive: The bed was very comfortable. The view was outstanding, although I think ours was the only terrace from which you could see it fully. The garden and pool area was lovely and I think that with good weather and if you just want to sit by the pool all day it would be perfect. It was a quiet area. The kitchen was well-equipped and the groceries were appreciated.

Negative: Firstly, the promised free car and taxi were not included after all. The owners did call us beforehand to offer to let us cancel (but would not offer a price reduction) but as it was so close to our arrival we decided to bite the bullet and pay for our own car hire. Secondly, the washing machine was not, as listed, in the kitchen, but actually a shared one in a separate building down a hill, which was extremely inconvenient, especially in the wet and pitch dark. In addition, there was a storm while we were there, in advance of which the owners practically insisted that we move from the ground floor to the first floor because of the 'humidity'. The first floor apartment then leaked in a lot of water in multiple places but the owners said this was to be 'expected' in a storm. Personally, I do not expect a house to leak whatever the weather. Other small things were that the wifi was not secure and the internet was patchy; the living room was not at all cosy and the TV was oddly placed so it was awkward to see from the sofa. Some items in the kitchen were not clean. It is not ideal as a sightseeing base because the surrounding roads are poor.

Positive: Beautiful hill top location away from the busy coastal strip Our warm and welcoming hosts had thought of everything for the apartment making it a wonderful experience The pool is great and very well maintained our only regret was we didn’t spend more time in and near it There are some beautiful and interesting walks nearby but do get out early to avoid the heat.

Negative: Nothing to not like but you will need a car to get around and the time passed too quickly 🙂
